XIII. Of Works before Justification.
Works done before the grace of Christ, and the Inspiration of the Spirit, are not pleasant to God, forasmuch as they spring not of faith in Jesus Christ; neither do they make men meet to receive grace, or (as the School-authors say) deserve grace of congruity: yea rather, for that they are not done as God hath willed and commanded them to be done, we doubt not but they have the nature of sin.
Proverbs 21:4 - A haughty look, a proud heart,
And the plowing of the wicked are sin. (NKJV)
Romans 6: 19 - I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.(NKJV)
We do evil in some form before we find Christ because our hearts are in the wrong place, but once Christ is master of our lives we can do good to honor Him
